Recipe: Green Ginger Intention Tonic

Ingredients

  • 8 Cups Water
  • 1 Tbsp grated ginger
  • ¼ cup of fresh mint, basil, lemongrass or tulsi
  • 1-2 pinches of salt to taste (optional)
  • Freshly squeezed lime to taste (optional)
  • 2-3 tsp raw honey to taste (optional)

Directions

  1. Heat water in saucepan or pot until boiling.
  2. Start thinking about what this tonic will be for, and begin short ritual or favorite practice.
  3. Add ginger and your choice of green herb.
  4. Turn heat down to simmer (the ginger should be moving around).
  5. Simmer uncovered for about 15 minutes (you should have about 5 cups remaining after).
  6. While simmering, continue ritual or practice or start another one – meditating, exercising, going for a walk, doing breathwork, journaling, drawing, dancing – anything you enjoy.
  7. Cut heat and let cool for 5-10 minutes, depending on how hot you like your tonic.
  8. While cooling, continue your ritual or start a different shorter one.
  9. After you’re done with the ritual, add the salt, juice, and/or the honey.
  10. Stir 10 times counterclockwise, then 10 times clockwise.
  11. Put your hands over the container, and look at the water, noticing your reflection.
  12. Think or say whatever you want to infuse the tonic with and subsequently ingest – there’s no right or wrong intention as it’s personalized to you.
  13. While looking at your reflection in the water, think or say the words “Thank you, I love you.”
  14. Strain and enjoy the energy of what you put into this!
